Variable-Capacity vs. Single-Stage
Variable-capacity (inverter) systems run at low output most of the time and adjust as needed, which helps keep temperatures steadier and operation quieter. Single-stage systems cycle fully on and off, which can mean wider temperature swings.
Dual-Fuel or All-Electric
A heat pump can be paired with a Lennox gas furnace for dual-fuel heating, or with a Lennox air handler for an all-electric system. We will help you choose based on your home and equipment.
Efficiency Ratings
Cooling efficiency is rated in SEER2 and heating efficiency in HSPF2; higher numbers mean less energy used. Ratings vary by model, and "digital-ready" models reach their best efficiency when paired with the Lennox S40 Smart Thermostat.
Newer Refrigerant and Safety
Lennox's 2025-compliant systems use a newer refrigerant with a lower global warming potential and include a Refrigerant Detection System for safe operation.

Lennox Air Handlers
The air handler is the indoor half of your system. It moves air through your ducts and works with your outdoor unit, so it affects comfort, humidity control and efficiency. We install and service Lennox air handlers designed for the newer R-454B refrigerant, which include a Refrigerant Detection System on 2025-compliant systems.
